With the What the F EP, Hamburg-based producer Paula Zoe delivers a fresh and powerful release on Palmlands Records, blending club-focused Bass House energy with deeper Indie Dance textures. The EP features two distinct versions of the track: the driving original “What the F” by Paula Zoe and a hypnotic Indie Dance remix by Cologne-based DJ and producer Rallo.
Together, both tracks create a dynamic contrast that moves from peak-time dancefloor pressure to deeper late-night atmosphere — while staying firmly rooted in modern club culture.
Paula Zoe – From Songwriting Roots to Club-Focused Bass House
German producer Paula Zoe has built her sound through a diverse musical background. Starting with singer-songwriter productions at a young age, she gradually moved into electronic music, developing a style that flows between Deep House, Indie Dance and Tech House.
With the What the F? EP, Paula Zoe steps firmly into the world of Bass House, delivering a track designed for maximum dancefloor impact.
The original version of “What the F?” is driven by a rolling low-end groove, crisp percussion and a bold hook that immediately grabs attention on club systems. The arrangement keeps the momentum tight and energetic while leaving enough space for the groove to breathe.
The result is a track that feels both playful and powerful — a club weapon built for packed rooms and peak-time moments.
Beyond her solo productions, Paula Zoe is also part of the queer DJ and producer duo Susi&Paula, who perform regularly in clubs across Germany and neighboring countries. Their performances combine different shades of electronic music while maintaining a strong connection to underground dancefloor culture.
Rallo’s Indie Dance Remix Adds Depth and Atmosphere
While the original version of “What the F?” delivers Bass House pressure, the EP’s second track brings a completely different perspective.
For the remix, Rallo, a DJ and producer from Cologne, reinterprets the track through a darker Indie Dance and melodic techno lens. His version introduces atmospheric synth layers, hypnotic melodies and deeper rhythmic tension, turning the original groove into a late-night club experience.
Rallo’s journey into electronic music began early. Starting as a drummer in a ska-punk band, rhythm has always been central to his approach. Over time he transitioned into electronic production and DJing, exploring the intersection between house and techno.
His career includes numerous residencies and performances across Germany. Since 2014 he has been a resident DJ at the Saarbrücken club Silodom and the off-location Sektor Heimat, while also playing at venues like Blau Niteclub, Le Hirsch, Hasenbau Cologne and Kunstbar.
As a producer, Rallo has released music on labels such as Eisenwaren Records, Jaw Dropping Records, Pirates Are Loud and Sieben Sonnen. His productions often combine melodic tension with driving club energy — an approach that fits perfectly with the darker interpretation of “What the F?” on this EP.
Two Tracks, Two Perspectives on the Dancefloor
One of the defining qualities of the Paula Zoe – What the F? EP is the contrast between its two tracks.
The original version focuses on Bass House energy, designed for peak-time dancefloor moments with a strong groove and immediate impact.
The remix by Rallo moves into Indie Dance territory, expanding the track with atmospheric elements and hypnotic textures that work perfectly for deeper club sets or late-night transitions.
This dual perspective makes the EP versatile for DJs who move between different moods during their sets while keeping the crowd locked into the rhythm.
A Dancefloor-Driven EP Built for Club Energy
From punchy Bass House grooves to deeper melodic tension, the What the F? EP by Paula Zoe delivers two complementary interpretations of the same track concept.
The original provides direct dancefloor power, while Rallo’s remix adds an atmospheric late-night twist. Together they form a release that moves fluidly between peak-time club moments and deeper after-hours vibes.
